I read more fiction in 2024. Typically in recent years, it's been 50/50 fiction to non-fiction. I also discovered a new (to me) author that I love: Silvia Moreno-Garcia, managed to squeeze just one classic Western in, and revisited a very weird book I first read about 20 years ago (The Wasp Factory). I did not care at all for The Vegetarian, which won the Man Booker Prize in 2016 and all kinds of acclaim since and I was surprised how much I liked Ann Patchett's These Precious Days. North Woods was a top contender for an asterisk, as was The Day of the Triffids, a classic British SF story which was fantastic. Also finally got around to reading The Man in the High Castle after it's been sitting on my coffee table for about seven years. Readers, if I say I'm gonna read something, I'm gonna read it. It just might take me a decade to get to it.

Here's to another good year of reading.
